Abstract:
A banknote storing and advancing device (23) configured in such a manner that the diameter of a take-up roller (38) in tape take-up operation can be increased in order to increase the amount of storage of banknotes (34) and that the banknote storing and advancing device (23) can stably store and advance the banknotes (34).
A conveyance path (95) through which a banknote (34) is conveyed while being held is formed. The distance (B) between holding positions, which is the distance between a conveyance path-side holding position (A1) at which the banknote (34) is held at a position closest to the take-up roller (38) and a take-up roller-side holding position (A2) at which tapes (36, 37) are wound on the take-up roller (38) to hold the banknote (34), is set to be less than the length (b) of the banknotes (34) in the conveyance direction. The banknote storing and advancing device is provided with a take-up roller moving mechanism (62) which, while maintaining the distance (B) between holding positions to a value less than the length (b) of the banknote (34) in the conveyance direction, moves the take-up roller (38) according to the amount of the tapes taken up by the take-up roller (38).
