Abstract:
This parking assistance device (5) assists the travel and parking of a vehicle (V, Vo) in a parking lot (PL). The parking assistance device comprises a space recognition unit (51c) that searches for parking spaces in which to park the vehicle in the parking lot on the basis of vehicle peripheral information acquired by a periphery monitoring sensor (3) installed on the vehicle. The parking assistance device comprises an information providing unit (54) that provides, to a user, information for prompting the selection of a target parking space, in which to park the vehicle, from among the parking spaces obtained as the search results in the parking lot. The parking assistance device comprises a target location setting unit (55) that sets a target parking location for the vehicle on the basis of the target parking space selected by the user. The information providing unit provides, to the user, area information in which a range including a plurality of parking frames in a parking space is set as a designated range.
