Abstract:
[Problem] To implement low power consumption in event detection, without reducing resolution. [Solution] A photodetection element comprises: a pixel array; a holding circuit; a control circuit; and a signal processing circuit. The pixel array has event detection elements that detect differences in the intensity of received light and that are arranged in a two-dimensional array. The holding circuit holds events detected by the event detection elements. The control circuit controls a power supply voltage and a clock signal for: the event detection elements belonging to at least one region of the pixel array; and for the holding circuit corresponding to the event detection elements. The signal processing circuit processes signals outputted from the event detection elements.
