Title:
PHOTOMULTIPLIER AND RADIATION DETECTING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/099959
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A vacuum container of a photomultiplier is constituted by airtightly bonding a
light receiving surface plate (13) on one side end of a side tube (15), and a stem (29)
on the other side end through a tube-like member (31). In the vacuum container, a
photoelectric surface (14), a focus electrode (17), dynodes (Dy1-Dy12), an extracting
electrode (19) and an anode (25) are arranged. The tube-like member (31) is arranged
at the periphery of the stem (29), and a support pin (21) and a lead pin (47) are fixed
on an extending section (32), which extends from the tube-like member (31), by
inserting the pins into the extending section. Thus, strength of the stem is improved,
and the effective areas of an electron multiplying section and an electron detecting
section are efficiently ensured.
