Abstract:
A body of a pipe joint according to the present invention is a tubular member and includes a connecting portion to a first pipe in one end portion in the axial direction and an annular groove in the other end portion in the axial direction. A sleeve includes an annular protrusion in one end portion in the axial direction and a connecting portion to a second pipe in the other end portion in the axial direction. A nut can be engaged with an external thread provided to the body or the sleeve. When the nut is engaged with the external thread of the body or the sleeve, the annular protrusion of the sleeve is press-fitted into the annular groove of the body to form a sealing area between the annular groove and the annular protrusion. Under the condition that the annular groove has at least three times as large a depth as a wall thickness on the inner peripheral side or the outer peripheral side of the annular groove, an axial distance from the sealing area to the bottom of the annular groove is set to a value exceeding 10 times larger than an increase amount of the width of the annular groove upon the press-fitting of the annular protrusion into the annular groove.
