Abstract:
A spiral pipe 9 is formed by helically winding a band-shaped member 90 using a pipe-making apparatus 3 while joining edges 93 and 94 of the band-shaped member 90 that are adjacent to each other by a single winding. A propulsion reaction force-applying part 10 of the pipe-making apparatus 3 applies a propulsion reaction force for advancement in the winding direction of the band-shaped member 90 on a following band section 92 of the band-shaped member 90 that follows a preceding spiral pipe section 91 that is made previously or on the preceding spiral pipe section 91. As a result of friction between a resistance force-applying part 30 and the band-shaped member 90 during propulsion, a resistance force of the opposite direction to the propulsion reaction force is applied on the band-shaped member 90 along the winding direction. As a result, it is possible to omit a diameter-controlling frame and make the pipe-making apparatus 3 smaller.
