Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a pipe retaining device for a pipe joint with which it is possible for a pipe detachment preventing force to be further improved without inserting an inner core, while employing a simple structure. This pipe retaining device is provided with a tilting mechanism (7) which, when a lock ring coupling portion (32) and an opposing portion (54) are in contact with one another, causes a lock ring (3A) to tilt toward a pipe axis direction relative to a reference plane (P) perpendicular to the central axis of a ring main body (30A), in such a way that a circumferential direction end portion (30x) of the ring main body (30A) is caused to approach a joint main body (2), and a circumferential direction central portion (30y) of the ring main body (30A) is caused to move away from the joint main body (2). A first surface (56) of the opposing portion (54) that opposes the lock ring coupling portion (32) is parallel to the reference plane P. Each of a plurality of second surfaces (34a, 34b) of the lock ring coupling portion (32) that oppose the opposing portion (54) is positioned within the same inclined plane (PI), which is inclined toward the pipe axis direction relative to the reference plane (P). A gap (B) between the first surface (56) and the inclined plane (PI) increases from the circumferential direction end portion (30x) towards the circumferential direction central portion (30y).
