Title:
PISTON TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/196155
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This piston temperature control device for an internal combustion engine has a reduced number of valves, a minimal increase of friction loss in the internal combustion engine caused by a decrease in oil temperature, a minimal rise in pressure in a discharge port of an oil pump, and a minimal increase of driving force of the oil pump. A piston temperature control device (1) for an internal combustion engine has: an oil pump (10) provided with an intake port (11) through which oil is taken in from an oil pan (P), and a discharge port (12) that discharges the oil taken in through the intake port (11); a three-way valve (20) that switches between a flow channel (R1) that allows communication between the discharge port (12) and the intake port (11), and a flow channel (R2) that allows communication between the discharge port (12) and a piston oil jet (80) that sprays oil onto a piston; and a control unit (09) that controls the switching of the valve (20) in accordance with the temperature of the piston.
