Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a plant-derived proteoglycan characterized by being obtained from gum arabic acquired from the trunk or branches of a plant belong to the genus Acacia (Acacia Senegal Willdenow or Acacia Seyal Delile), and having a weight average molecular weight of 900,000-3,500,000 and a total aldehyde content of 2.0 μmol equivalent/g or less. According to the present invention , it is possible to provide a plant-derived proteoglycan having physiological activities equivalent to or better than those of an animal-derived proteoglycan.
