Abstract:
Provided is a plant pathogen control agent used to control plant pathogens on plants by a novel method of using cellulose nanofibers. The plant pathogen control agent contains plant-derived cellulose nanofibers as an active ingredient, is sparged or sprayed on the foliage or stem of plants, and forms a hydrophilic nanofiber coating surface after drying. The cellulose nanofibers include plant-derived nanofiber materials selected from the group consisting of gramineous plants, broadleaf trees, and needleleaf trees. Examples of plants that may be applied with the control agent include cabbage plants, soybean plants, tomato plants, tobacco plants, and coffee tree seedlings. Plant pathogens that can be controlled by the control agent include pathogenic bacteria, rust fungi, and pathogenic fungi.
