Abstract:
Provided is a plate-making method for performing on-press development of a planographic printing plate original by supplying dampening water and printing ink thereto, the planographic printing plate original containing a dye having absorption in at least the visible light wavelength range, and the dampening water containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of hydrogen peroxide, percarbonate, hyposulfite, thiourea dioxide, and ascorbic acid or a derivative thereof. Also provided is a planographic printing plate making method with which, even when on-press development of an on-press development type planographic printing plate original is repeatedly performed using the dampening water, the dampening water is prevented from being colored, thereby making it possible to provide a planographic printing plate capable of preventing contamination of a printed-matter non-image forming part and having excellent printing durability. A dampening water for planographic printing is also provided.
