The present invention addresses the issue of providing a plate material machining device and a plate material machining method, whereby draw molding can be followed by trim molding and an end section of a plate material can be cut while being pulled, during trim molding. The plate material machining device (1) comprises: a lower molding die (12); an upper molding die (22); a lower blank holder (13) and an upper blank holder (23) that hold an end section of the plate material (W) and can be raised/lowered relative to the lower molding die (12) and the upper molding die (22); and cutting blades (123, 124) provided further on the outside than a molding surface (120) of the lower molding die (12) and that cut the end section of the plate material (W). The lower molding die (12) and the upper molding die (22) mold the plate material (W), as a result of the end section of the plate material (W) being pulled and the plate material (W) being pushed against the molding surface (120), by the relative raising and lowering of the blank holders. The cutting blades (123, 124) cut the end section of the plate material (W), by the end section of the plate material (W) being pulled and by abutting same, as a result of the relative raising and lowering of the blank holders.
