Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polarizing plate which suppresses bleed-out and which has minimal curl. A further purpose of the present invention is to provide a polarizing plate manufacturing method for manufacturing said polarizing plate. This polarizing plate comprises a λ/4 phase difference film having a slow axis inclined within the range 45±10° with respect to the absorption axis of a polarizer, which is sandwiched by polarizing plate protective films. The polarizing plate is characterized in that the main component of the λ/4 phase difference film is a cyclo-olefin resin having a polar group, the ultraviolet transmittance at wavelength 380nm is less than or equal to 15%, the in-plane retardation value Ro is within the range 80-180 nm, and the total thickness is less than or equal to 90 µm.
