Abstract:
Provided is a polarizing plate whereby color loss in the absorption axis direction thereof in an environment of high temperature, high-humidity environment is markedly suppressed. This polarizing plate has a polarizing membrane, a protective film, and an adhesive layer. The polarizing membrane is formed from a polyvinyl-alcohol-based resin film including iodine, and the thickness thereof is 8 µm or less. The adhesive layer is disposed adjacent to the polarizing membrane, and the moisture permeability thereof is 300 g/m2/24 hr or less. In this polarizing plate, the amount of color loss in the absorption axis direction of the polarizing membrane after the polarizing plate is held for 120 hours in an environment at 85°C and 85% RH is 100 µm or less.
