Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cloning vector carrying a novel non-mammalian virus derived 2A sequence, a polynucleotide for biosynthesis of carotenoid, and a transgenic plant. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cloning vector carrying a non-mammalian virus-derived 2A sequence, a polynucleotide encoding phytoene synthase, non-mammalian virus-derived 2A sequence, carotene desaturase, β-carotene hydroxylase, and β-carotene ketolase, a recombinant expression vector carrying the polynucleotide, a transformed cell having the polynucleotide introduced thereinto, and a transgenic plant having the polynucleotide introduced thereinto. A 2A sequence according to the present invention exhibits higher ribosomal skipping efficiency than conventional FMDV-derived 2A sequences, thereby enabling the development of transgenic plants that are of high genetic expression stability. In addition, a ribosomal skipping 2A sequence according to the present invention is derived from a non-mammalian virus and thus expected to increase popular acceptance upon the development of transgenic plants.
