Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: The present invention addresses the issues of providing a polyester resin that has, in addition to excellent curability, processability, retort resistance and dent resistance, and providing a composition, using the resin, for coating a metal plate. SOLUTION: A polyester resin having a polyvalent carboxylic acid component and a polyvalent alcohol component as copolymerization components, and satisfying the following conditions (i)-(iii). (i) At least 10 mol% of the polyvalent carboxylic acid component forming the polyester resin is a polyvalent carboxylic acid component having a furan skeleton. (ii) There are at least two kinds of polyvalent alcohol component forming the polyester resin. (iii)The glass transition temperature is at least 70°C.
