Abstract:
A polyester resin for a toner, which is produced by using (1) a disproportionated rosin and (2) terephthalic acid and/or isophthalic acid, as an acid component, (3) a glycidyl ester of a tertiary fatty acid and (4) an aliphatic diol having two to ten carbon atoms, as an alcohol component, and a three or more-valent polycarboxylic acid and/or a three or more-valent polyol, as a crosslinking component, wherein the mole ratio of the acid component (1) to the acid component (2) [(1)/(2)] is 0.2 to 0.6, and the mole ratio of the alcohol component (3) to the acid component (4) [(3)/(4)] is 0.05 to 0.4; a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image which comprises the polyester resin for a toner (a binding resin), a coloring agent and a charge controlling agent; and a method for forming an image using the a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image.
