Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a polymerizable liquid crystal composition which is suitable for an optical film having excellent adhesion to a base material, is reduced in the degree of shift of a selected wavelength associated with a thermal history, and has excellent heat resistance; an optical film using the polymerizable liquid crystal composition; a method for producing the optical film; and an image display device equipped with the optical film. It is found that a cholesteric liquid crystal film produced by polymerizing a polymerizable liquid crystal composition containing a specific bifunctional polymerizable liquid crystal compound, a specific chiral compound and a specific oxime ester-type polymerization initiator can exhibit excellent heat resistance, and this finding leads to the accomplishment of the present invention.
