Title:
POLYMERIZATION METHOD FOR PREPARING BLOCK COPOLYMER BY INSERTING ALKYLTHIOETHER INTO BIS(TRI)THIOCARBONATE-TERMINATED POLYMER BY ALKALI-ASSISTED CATALYSIS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/150970
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A polymerization method for preparing a block copolymer by inserting alkylthioether into a bis(tri)thiocarbonate-terminated polymer by alkali-assisted catalysis. An organic base is added as a cocatalyst to form a catalyst system with a reported phase transfer catalyst such as tetraphenylphosphine chloride and tetraphenylamine chloride; and the catalyst system catalyzes a thioester terminal group-containing template compound or polymer and a cyclic thioether-containing monomer to undergo insertion polymerization, so as to obtain a high-molecular-weight homopolymerized or block copolymer. The polymerization method has the beneficial effects that for an insertion reaction initiated by a template compound, the monomer conversion rate is increased to 80% or more; and when the molecular weight of the template polymer is greater than 2500 g/mol, insertion polymerization may still be successfully carried out, and the monomer conversion rate is greater than 80%. The block polymer synthesized by the method has a special phase topological structure, may greatly improve the amorphous state of a polymer, and has a wide application prospect in the fields of self-healing materials, intelligent materials, self-assembly, biopolymers, drug sustained release and the like.
