Abstract:
A polypeptide (interacting polypeptide) capable of interacting with a Smad polypeptide wherein the interacting polypeptide comprises the amino acid sequence LPTSY and/or PNXXXP(P/L) or PN(V/A)V(A/M)P(P/L) and is less than 84 amino acids in length or is not full-length Xenopus or human FAST1 or a fragment thereof, mouse FAST2, Xenopus FAST3 or Zebrafish Fast 1. The Smad polypeptide may be Smad2 or Smad3 or Smad4. The interacting polypeptides are useful in screening assays and in medicine.
