Abstract:
The present invention provides a porous catalyst body characterized by containing: a porous body, in which flakes containing iron oxide, at least some of which is in a polycrystalline state, are formed by being aggregated in a state whereby a plurality of voids that connect to the outside are present and the flakes have fine pores formed by one void being linked to another void; and oxide catalyst particles which are supported in the fine pores and which contain at least one type selected from the group consisting of a noble metal, an oxide of the noble metal and an alloy of the noble metal and a transition metal, with the flakes having a thickness of 5-20 nm and a maximum length of 50-500 nm. The present invention is capable of providing a catalyst body which can suppress a decrease in catalytic activity at an increased flow rate.
