Abstract:
A positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries containing a lithium transition metal composite oxide, wherein: the lithium transition metal complex oxide has an α-NaFeO2 structure, contains Ni, Co and Mn as transition metals (Me), has an X-ray diffraction pattern which can be attributed to the space group R3-m, and has a crystallite size of 410 Å or more; and with respect to the lithium transition metal complex oxide, the ratio of the half-width of the diffraction peak of the (003) plane to the half-width of the diffraction peak of the (104) plane at the Miller index hkl by X-ray diffraction measurement using CuKα rays is from 0.810 to 0.865.
