Abstract:
A lithium ion secondary cell has high energy density, low internal resistance, and excellent output characteristics, cycle characteristics, and low-temperature characteristics, the lithium ion secondary cell being manufactured using a positive electrode composition for a lithium ion secondary cell, the positive electrode composition including lithium cobalt oxide as an active material, and as conductive materials, carbon black having a BET specific surface area of 100-400 m2 /g and DBP absorption of 210-400 ml/100 g, and carbon nanotubes having an average diameter of 20 nm or less, a BET specific surface area of 170 m2/g or more, and an aspect ratio of 50 or more, the content X (unit: mass%) of the carbon black and the content Y (unit: mass%) of the nanotubes in the positive electrode composition satisfying conditions (A) and (B). (A) 0.5 ≤ (X + Y) ≤ 2.0
(B) 0.80 ≤ {X/(X + Y)} ≤ 0.95
