Abstract:

A power conversion device (19) is provided with: a power conversion unit (14) for converting and outputting electrical power supplied from a power source (11); a smoothing capacitor (13) connected to the power conversion unit (14); a switch (12) for connecting, or shutting off the connection of, the smoothing capacitor (13) and the power source (11); a detector (15) for detecting at least one of the temperature of the smoothing capacitor (13) and the voltage across both ends of the smoothing capacitor (13); and a control device (17) for controlling the switch (12) on the basis of data obtained from the detector (15) after the operation of the power conversion device (19) stops. The smoothing capacitor (13) is formed of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor or a hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitor.
