Abstract:
This power conversion device (100) comprises: a power converter (6) including a plurality of arms (13u, 14u) per each phase of an AC system; and a control device (5). Each of the plurality of arms (13u, 14u) has a plurality of converter cells (1) that are cascade-connected with each other. Each of the plurality of converter cells (1) has a plurality of switching elements (31) and a power storage element (32). The control device (5) includes: a balance control unit (55) that controls the voltage balance of the power storage elements between stipulated groups on the basis of a balance command value; a circulating current control unit (51) that controls a circulating current circulating within the power converter (6) on the basis of a circulating current command value; and an oscillation control unit (57) that causes the balance command value to oscillate at a first frequency which is lower than a fundamental frequency of the AC system on the basis of the voltages of each of the power storage elements included in the arms.
