Abstract:

Provided are a power supply relay control device capable of properly preventing a relay contact failure from occurring and an electric power steering device. When a conduction abnormality occurs between relay contacts, a power supply relay circuit is opened and closed while a predetermined voltage difference is maintained between the relay contacts. At this time, an ON-operation is performed on the relay contacts (121) while a pre-charge circuit (150) limits charging of an electrolytic capacitor (151). An ice film present between the relay contacts is thus removed by inter-contact arc thermal energy generated by the voltage difference between the relay contacts.
