This power transmission device comprises: a plurality of first power transmission electrodes and a plurality of second power transmission electrodes alternately disposed in a first direction extending along an electrode disposition surface; a power transmission circuit comprising a first terminal connected to the plurality of first power transmission electrodes and a second terminal connected to the plurality of second power transmission electrodes, the power transmission circuit outputting alternating-current power from the first terminal and the second terminal; and a back side electrode disposed on the back side of the plurality of first power transmission electrodes and the plurality of second power transmission electrodes with a gap between the back side electrode and said electrodes, the back side electrode being connected to a portion having a potential that is between the potential of the first terminal and the potential of the second terminal in the power transmission circuit.
