Abstract:
A power transmission device (10): has a sun gear member (14) and a ring gear member (16) that rotate relative to one another around an axis of rotation (12), a planet gear member (18) that meshes with the sun gear member and ring gear member, and a carrier member (78) that supports the planet gear member (18); and is configured such that rotary members (24, 30) are linked to the sun gear member and the ring gear member, respectively. At least two sets of two members comprising the sun gear member (14), the planet gear member (18), the ring gear member (16), and the carrier member (78) move relative to one another along the axis of rotation, and each of the two members is forced to frictionally engage on corresponding sides, thereby generating a frictional force. The three gear members and carrier member are thus prevented from rotating relative to one another.
