Abstract:
A power transmission device (10): has a sun gear member (14) and a ring gear member (16) that rotate relative to one another around an axis of rotation (12), and a planet gear member (18) that meshes with the sun gear member and ring gear member; and is configured such that first and second rotary members (24, 30) are coupled with the sun gear member and the ring gear member, respectively. The sun gear member (14) and ring gear member (16), and the planet gear member (18), move relative to one another along the axis of rotation, and a friction force is generated as a result of the sun gear member (14) and/or the ring gear member (16) being brought into friction engagement with the planet gear member (18) on the corresponding side surfaces thereof, thereby preventing the three gear members from rotating relative to one another.
