Abstract:
To provide a pre-processing device and pre-processing method with which it is possible to process a elastic-material sheet made of a metal into a cylindrical shape to a high degree of accuracy. A pre-processing method in which a pre-processing device 3, used before a rectangular elastic-material sheet 21 made of a metal is processed and molded into a cylindrical printing plate 2, is employed, wherein the pre-processing method is provided with: a step for applying a bending process to one end section 221 of the elastic-material sheet 21; and a step for applying a bending process, at a curvature smaller than that at the one end section 221 of the elastic-material sheet 21, to the other end section 222 of the elastic-material sheet 21.
