Title:
PREPREG AND FIBER REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/017553
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a prepreg that results in a fiber reinforced composite material provided with both superior mechanical characteristics and electrical conductivity in the thickness direction. The prepreg results from impregnating electrically conductive fibers with a matrix resin, and has an electrically conductive region resulting from an electrically conductive material being dispersed in the resin. In the present invention, a resin layer comprising at least the matrix resin is present at one or both sides of an electrically conductive fiber layer comprising at least the electrically conductive fibers, and the electrically conductive region is preferably present at least at the resin layer. Also, the electrically conductive region is preferably present contiguously in the thickness direction, and preferably the electrically conductive region results from the electrically conductive material being dispersed in the matrix resin and the resin at the electrically conductive region forms a continuous phase with the matrix resin of another region. The volume resistivity value of the conductive region is preferably no greater than 1/1000 that of the other regions of the matrix resin.
