Abstract:
Provided is a means with which it is possible to reduce the undesirable phenomena of energy for fixing ink to a sheet being imparted to gaps. This printing device 10 comprises: a printing head 24 which can move in the left-right direction 9 between a first position facing the transfer path 22 of the sheet and a second position retreated from the transfer path 22, and which can discharge ink from a nozzle 30; a cap 73 which faces the printing head 24 at the second position and which can move between the capped position at which the nozzle 30 is covered and the uncapped position at which the nozzle 30 is exposed; a heater 26 which is provided downstream from the printing head 24 in the transfer direction, and which heats the ink which has landed on the sheet; and a partition wall 71 which is positioned between a first space 81 of the internal space in which the transfer path 22, the printing head 24 at the first position and the heater 26 are positioned, and a second space 82 in which the printing head 24 at the second position and the cap 73 are positioned, the partition wall 71 extending from a position corresponding to the upstream end in the transfer direction of the cap 73, to a position corresponding to the downstream end in the transfer direction of the heater 26.
