Abstract:
Provided is a printing device that, through creative positioning of a standby position of a cutting unit, achieves greater compactness. A printing device (1) comprises an ink cartridge (8), feed rollers (60, 66), an image recording unit (3), a cutting unit (10), and a control unit. The control unit cuts a piece of paper (P) by causing the cutting unit (10) to move to the outer side, in a scanning direction, of a platen (34). A standby position (SB) in which the cutting unit (10) is caused to standby is located on the outer side, in the scanning direction, of the platen (34) and is aligned in the anteroposterior direction with respect to a cartridge case (80). When viewed in plan view from the front of the printing device (1), a part of the cutting unit (10), when the same is in the standby position (SB), is disposed so as to overlap the ink cartridge (8) at a position in the width direction of the printing device (1).
