Abstract:

Disclosed is a process for producing an absorber (3), comprising a deposition step of sucking an absorber raw material supplied by an air current into a depressed part (22) that is formed on the outer periphery surface of a rotary drum (2) to thereby deposit the raw material in the depressed part (22) and a pressing step of applying a pressure to a deposited material (32) that has been removed from the depressed part (22) to compress the deposited material, wherein the depressed part (22) comprises a sucking part (23) which can achieve sucking through the bottom surface and is composed of a porous plate (26) and a non-sucking part (24) which has a non-air-permeable bottom surface and does not achieve the suction through the bottom surface, the depth of the non-sucking part (24) from the outer periphery surface of the rotary drum is smaller than the depth of the sucking part (23) from the outer periphery surface of the rotary drum, the raw material is deposited in the depressed part (22) in the deposition step, and a pressure is applied to the deposited material (32) that has been removed from the depressed part (22) in the pressing step. In this manner, the absorber (3) having a high-density part and a low-density part which have different densities from each other can be produced.
