Title:
PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF OPTICALLY ACTIVE ERYTHRO-β-AMINO ALCOHOL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/004639
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for producing an erythro-β-amino alcohol compound, which is an optically active intermediate useful in the production of a pharmaceutical, in a simple manner and with good efficiency. An enantiometric mixture of an α-amino ketone compound or a salt thereof is reacted with a cell of at least one microorganism selected from microorganisms belonging to the genera Nocardia, Rhodococcus, Kuraishia, Rhodotorula, Sporidiobolus, Pichia and Candida, a product of the cell given by any treatment or a culture of the cell to produce a corresponding optically active erythro-β-amino alcohol compound at a high chemical purity, a high optical purity, a high optical yield and a high conversion rate. Thus, an excellent technique for production of a pharmaceutical can be provided.
