Provided in embodiments of the present disclosure are a processing method and device, the method comprising: sending first information to a Pcell of an MCG or to a PScell of an SCG; receiving second information from the Pcell of the MCG or from the PScell of the SCG; and performing cell release, addition or alteration for the MCG or SCG according to the second information, and/or altering the maximum number of multiple-input multiple-output layers or the maximum number of antenna ports for the cell of the MCG or SCG according to the second information.
