Abstract:

Provided is a product shelf allocation management device that uses images from an imaging device to manage the shelf allocation of products on product shelves arranged in a store. The product shelf allocation management device acquires an image including a position at which it is determined a change in the arrangement state of a product on a product shelf is likely to occur, determines whether the type and arrangement state of a product captured in the image matches a predetermined product type and arrangement state, and determines whether to execute a product arrangement inspection on the basis of the determination result. The product shelf allocation management device may identify a position at which a person has performed an action that is likely to cause a change in the arrangement state of a product on a product shelf, then cause the imaging device to capture an image including this position. Product arrangement inspection may be carried out automatically by product type at predetermined time intervals. Product arrangement inspection may also be carried out when a customer purchases a product.
