Abstract:
Provided are a product-sum calculation device, a neuromorphic device, and a method for using a product-sum calculation device, which, when applied to a neural network, is able to reduce a risk that the performance of the neural network will be significantly lost. The product-sum calculation device (1) comprise a product calculation unit (10) and a sum calculation unit (11). The product calculation unit (10) comprises a plurality of product calculation elements (10AA – 10AC), each of the plurality of product calculation elements (10AA – 10AC) being a variable resistance element. The sum calculation unit (11) comprises an output detector (11A) for detecting the total value of the output from the plurality of product calculation elements (10AA – 10AC). The variable resistance elements are provided with a fuse unit (AC1), and the fuse unit (AC1) breaks when a malfunction occurs in the variable resistance element, wherein the output current from the variable resistance element increases.
