Abstract:
The present invention provides a production system and a production method for a flavan oligomer, the system and method being capable of efficiently synthesizing, at high yield, a flavan oligomer in which flavan derivatives are bonded to each other at a desired polymerization degree. A production system (1) for a flavan oligomer comprises: a microreactor (106) in which a first fluid introduced from one inlet and a second fluid introduced from the other inlet are mixed in a flow path; a first container (101) in which the first fluid is prepared; a second container (102) in which the second fluid is prepared; and a recovery container (103) for recovering the generated fluid, wherein the first fluid is a liquid containing a flavan derivative having a flavan skeleton, the second fluid is a liquid containing a Lewis acid, and the generated fluid is recovered into a liquid containing a base. The production method for a flavan oligomer comprises: mixing a first fluid with a second fluid in a microreactor; activating a flavan derivative of the first fluid with a Lewis acid of the second fluid; starting the reaction between an activated flavan derivative and a flavan derivative acting as a nucleophilic body; and stopping the reaction with a base.
