Abstract:
Provided are a projection lens and a projection device for which both size increase and distortion can be prevented, even with a wide angle of view. The projection lens includes an optical system having an input lens into which light from an electro-optical element is input and an output lens which is positioned at the most magnifying side and which emits an image towards a projection surface, wherein: the input-light axis of the input lens is shifted, with respect to the center of a screen of the electro-optical element, in a first direction that is orthogonal to the input-light axis; a projection angle, which is an angle, with respect to the projection surface, of the output-light axis of the output lens, is less than 90 degrees; and if the effective radius of the output lens is DE, the focal distance of the overall optical system including the output lens is f, and the half-angle of view is ω, then ω is at least 60 degrees and the value of PA as defined in formula (1) below is 0.1 to 7.
