Abstract:
It is an objective of the present invention to provide psyllium seed coat granules having significantly improved affinity for water, and a method for producing the same. Another objective is to provide a powdered beverage using the psyllium seed coat granules. [Solution] One aspect resides in psyllium seed coat granules that are granulated using powdered sugar that has passed through a sieve of 120-300 mesh. Another aspect resides in granulation performed by fluidizing a mixture including psyllium seed coat and powdered sugar that has passed through a sieve of 120-300 mesh, spraying with water, and finally drying. A powdered beverage using the granulated psyllium seed coat granules is also provided.
