Title:
PUBLICATION ASSEMBLY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1999/056967
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of printing production and it can be used as a source of information in the form of a newspaper or some other as well as a means of package, storage and carriage for various materials and articles. The object of the invention is the expansion of functional possibilities due to the formation of inner cavities and the location of carrying components. The publication assembly comprises one or more sheets (1) containing visual information thereon. The novelty of publication assembly is provided by interconnection of edges (2) of sheets (1) along the open perimeter with the formation of inner cavities (3) and the location of carrying components (5) at open area (4) of the perimeter.

Description:
Publication Assembly Field of the Invention The invention relates to the field of printing production and to newspapers in particular.

Prior Art Known in the art is the publication assembly comprising eight sheets of visual information having pairwise a single folding line and uncoupled in between [Newspaper « Chastnaja Sobstvennost » (private Property) registration certificate No. 218 dd. 25.05.96, publisher-ZAO « ASA », Belarus].

The disadvantage of the publication assembly described is the impossibility to use it as a means of storage and carriage for various materials and articles.

Known in the art is the publication assembly (US patent No. 5181742 Int. cl. 5 B42D2/00.

1993) chosen as the nearest prior art reference comprising a pile of sheets with the edges of the sheets stuck together by weak glue. A transparent package is glued to each of the sheets. said package being used for storage of small articles. Besides each sheet is provided with a margin for information notes.

The disadvantages of the publication assembly described are as follows: the impossibility to use the sheets as a means of packing; the lack of components making it possible to carry various materials and articles; storage of small articles in separate packages secured to the sheets.

Summary of the Invention The object of the invention is the expansion of functional possibilities of the publication assembly.

The object has been achieved by the publication assembly comprising two or more sheets containing visual information thereon with the edges of said sheets being interconnected along

an open perimeter to form the inner cavities, said assembly being in addition provided by the carrying components positioned at the open area of the perimeter.

The interconnection of sheets along the open perimeter makes it possible to use the sheets as the sources of visual information and at the same time as the walls of the cavities which are used as storage places for the materials and articles to be packed or stored, while the location of carrying components which are in addition provided on the publication assembly at the open area of the perimeter makes it possible to carry the publication assembly with the materials and articles placed there within.

A comparative analysis of the proposed solution with the nearest prior art reference shows that the publication assembly filed differs in that its sheet edges are interconnected along the open perimeter with the resulting formation of inner cavities, while the assembly itself is in addition provided with carrying components which are positioned at the open area of its perimeter.

These distinctive features provide the compliance of the publication assembly filed with such invention criterion as « novelty of the invention)).

The analysis of the technical references known in the art and in the related fields shows that these technical references do not processes the distinctive features of the publication assembly filed thus providing its compliance with the invention criterion « inventive step ».

The drawing shows the perspective view of the publication assembly.

Detailed Description of the Invention The publication assembly comprises two or more sheets 1 interconnected by their edges 2 along the open perimeter. Between sheets 1 there is formed inner cavity 3. Carrying components 5 are positioned at the open area of the perimeter.

Interconnection of sheets 1 along their edges 2can be provided by any known means i. e. by bonding or glueing. Threads or rivets can also used.

Carrying components 5 can be made either as design elements of the sheets, e. g. as an opening adjacent top open area 4 of the perimeter or as projections at the edges of the sheets, as well

an independent element secured to sheets 1 in open area 4of the perimeter, e. g. different kinds of handles used for polyethylene bags.

Sheets 1 can be made of any material used in printing industry for manufacturing of printing products (paper, polyethylene film, etc.).

If the publication assembly is made of one sheet, the latter is folded e. g. in the middle and interconnection is being made along the two open sides, while the third one is left unused for the location of carrying components.

The publication assembly is used in the following way.

Reading of information contained on the surfaces of sheets 1 can be provided as before putting into inner cavity 3 of various materials and articles so after the latter have been put into it.

Should the packing or storage of any materials or articles be required, the latter are put into inner cavity 3 formed by interconnected sheets 3.

Carriage of the publication assembly with the materials and articles placed therewithin is provided with the help of carrying components 5.

The use of the publication assembly filed as compared to the nearest prior art references and other similar assemblies makes it possible to expand the functional possibilities of the assembly and to use it not only as a source of visual information but also as a means of packing, storage and carriage for various materials and articles.
