Abstract:
The invention reduces the occurrence of artifacts arising from body movements of the subject in energy subtraction imaging. While changing the relative position of a second grid with respect to a first grid successively, imaging is performed at each relative position switching the X-ray energy radiated from the X-ray source between low energy and high energy. The periodic pattern of X-rays passing through the first and second grids is detected using an X-ray image detector and first and second image data are respectively generated for the low energy and high energy. On the basis of the first and second image data, first and second phase differential images are generated and by subtracting either the first or second phase differential image from the other, a difference image is calculated. In said difference image, interfering shadows that interfere with diagnostic imaging have been removed.
