Abstract:
Disclosed is a rare-earth complex which comprises a rare-earth ion and a ligand coordinated to the rare-earth ion and including a fused polycyclic aromatic group. The fused polycyclic aromatic group is a residue formed from a fused polycyclic aromatic compound represented by formula (I) by removing a hydrogen atom bonded to a fused aromatic ring. In formula (I), R1 and R2 represent hydrogen atoms or represent groups which have been bonded to each other to form a fused aromatic ring including one aromatic ring or two or more aromatic rings.
