Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to prevent interception in quantum key distribution. A quantum signal is incident on an interferometer (20), and the interferometer (20) decodes the quantum signal. Single-photon detectors (PD1, PD2) detect photons of the decoded quantum signal output from the interferometer (20). A signal processing unit (3) detects bits of the decoded quantum signal on the basis of the results of photon detection by the single-photon detectors (PD1, PD2). A control unit (2) switches, in the single-photon detectors (PD1, PD2), an output destination of two decoded quantum signals corresponding to one encoding base, and on the basis of the results of photon detection by each of the single-photon detectors (PD1, PD2), switches bits detected by the signal processing unit (3).
