Abstract:
A rechargeable battery comprises: an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, a separator positioned between the first electrode and the second electrode; a case which has an opening positioned at one side thereof and accommodates the electrode assembly; a cap assembly coupled to the opening to seal the case; a first electrode tab extending from the first electrode and coupled to the case; and a second electrode tab extending from the second electrode and coupled to the cap assembly, wherein the cap assembly comprises a first metal layer contacting the second electrode tab, a second metal layer which is spaced apart from the first metal layer and contacts the case, and a first plastic portion insulating the first metal layer from the second metal layer.
