Abstract:
A relay device (20) is characterized by comprising reception processing units (24-1 to 24-i) each of which performs reception processing to determine whether a received frame is a synchronization protocol frame or a non-synchronization protocol frame, relay processing units (25-1 to 25-i) each of which performs relay processing in accordance with a determined protocol, and transmission processing units (26-1 to 26-i) each of which performs transmission processing to transmit a frame after the relay processing is performed, the functions of the reception processing units (24-1 to 24-i), the relay processing units (25-1 to 25-i), and the transmission processing units (26-1 to 26-i) being achieved by software processing that is executed by a processor (23) reading a program, wherein the relay processing units (25-1 to 25-i), when the received frame is the synchronization protocol frame, each calculate a relay time by summing the processing times required by the reception processing, the relay processing, and the transmission processing, and uses the relay time to update the value of a delay time correction field included in the frame.
