Abstract:

A retainer (4) for a ball bearing, the entire part of which retainer is made of a resin composition and in which projections (8) containing a solid lubricating agent (CB) are arranged on pocket surfaces (6) for receiving balls (5). Further, a ball bearing (1) has the retainer (4) assembled in it. Particularly in use of the ball bearing (1) in a high-temperature environment, the projections (8) are less likely to wear out in a short period because of the effect of the solid lubricating agent (CB). As a consequence, effects such as to prevent noise from occurring, the ball bearing (1) from requiring higher torque, life of the lubricating agent from being reduced, which are obtained by providing gaps between the balls (5) and the pocket surfaces (6) by arranging projections (8), can be maintained for a long period.
