Title:
ROADSIDE APPARATUS AND COMMUNICATION CONGESTION CONTROL METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/261908
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To make it possible to reliably avoid ITS communication congestion at an intersection of streets, and to appropriately assist the passage of an automatic driving vehicle. [Solution] A roadside device 3 of a cooperation source acquires terminal movement information (the number of entering terminals) pertaining to the movement direction of pedestrian terminals present around a host device, and transmits the terminal movement information to a roadside device of a cooperation destination. Upon receiving the terminal movement information from the roadside device of the cooperation source, the roadside device of the cooperation destination determines, on the basis of the terminal movement information, the presence/absence of congestion in communications between terminals at a prescribed timepoint in the future, and if the determination is that there will be congestion in communications between terminals, transmits to a pedestrian terminal 1 an instruction for a congestion avoidance operation that restricts communications between terminals. Upon receiving the congestion avoidance operation instruction from the roadside device of the cooperation destination, the pedestrian terminal executes, as the congestion avoidance operation, an operation for switching from direct communications by inter-terminal communication to indirect communications via the roadside device.
