Abstract:
The present technology relates to a robot and a robot control method that enable an improvement in a user's sense of security with respect to a touch interaction with a robot. This robot comprises: a hand portion capable of gripping a user's hand; a haptic detecting unit for detecting haptic information relating to the hand portion; and a grip control unit for controlling a gripping force of the hand portion that is shaking hands with the hand, on the basis of the haptic information. This technology is applicable to robots capable of executing touch interactions, for example.
